Natural Bridal Makeup: Sadé & Waldo Wedding

Makeup: Ansu Makeup Artistry | Photographer: Hewitt Wright | Hair: Lia’s Hair & Makeup | Coordination: Tiger Lily Events

Whenever a bride that doesn’t wear makeup very often sits in my chair, I get pretty nervous. Not because I struggle to do natural makeup, but brides often underestimate how much product “natural” makeup actually requires. I am a professional makeup artist situated in Durbanville (Cape Town), and I’ve received countless requests for natural bridal makeup. Natural makeup has been growing in popularity in recent years, and I have to admit: I am a fan!

When Sadé first sat in my chair for her trial, I immediately noticed her beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes. She has very soft, ethereal features. So, it came as no surprise when she showed me her inspiration photo’s for her makeup: natural makeup. She explained that she never wears makeup, and doesn’t enjoy the feeling of it.

Whenever I get a client like Sadé, I explain that natural makeup might look “natural”, but in order for it to look good in pictures I still need to use a good amount of product to achieve the look. Sadé did require some convincing - but luckily that’s why we have a trial beforehand! I’m happy to report that she was elated with the outcome! Seeing a bride look so happy when they look in the mirror truly warms my heart, and reminds me why I love what I do.

I also did her bridesmaids’ and mother’s makeup, and they were such a pleasure to work with!

Sadé’s natural bridal makeup look fit so perfectly with her bohemian and rustic wedding. The look really came together with her show-stopping dress and dried flower bouquet!

I wish Sadé & Waldo a long and happy marriage! Their wedding was absolutely stunning and I really enjoyed working with them.

If you’re interested in having natural makeup for your wedding, book a trial with me here. I’d love to work with you!
